Apple has released their new operating system macOS 10.15 Catalina. Unfortunately, your existing and in-progress Motif photo projects will not carry over if you upgrade to Catalina. Don’t worry — your photos will still be in your Apple Photos library!
So if you’re working on a Motif project within Apple Photos or want to reprint a previous project, please place your order before you upgrade to Catalina.
There are two issues you will encounter if you upgrade to Catalina currently:
The first: Upon opening an existing project, all images on all pages are missing
Users opening a Motif project on macOS Catalina that was created on macOS High Sierra or Mojave will find that all images on all pages are missing and have been replaced with our standard placeholder graphic.
Note that all of the images in their project are still in the Image Tray and any text elements should still exist so rebuilding their project would be possible, though is still not recommended.
The second: Images in the image tray appear pixelated
Users may notice that the thumbnail images in their image tray appear very pixelated. This is an Apple Bug that they expect to have fixed before releasing Catalina, but we haven’t seen that fix working yet.
Our team is working diligently to release a version of Motif that is fully compatible with Catalina. We will be sure to let you know when it is available for you.
